Theories on this?

So I was doing the College of Winterhold quest when I came upon something I’ve never seen before.
The last room before the boss room in Labyrinthian, near the word wall and hidden near some rocks is this skeleton with what looks like a baby skeleton inside the bigger skeleton’s stomach. There’s also a silver sapphire necklace on the skeleton.

I’m guessing this was a mother and her unborn child or at least that’s what it looks like. My question is:
How did they get there? What happened?

Good catch. However, I seen it, and I know plenty of other people have seen and talked about it before.
Quite the sad, none-the-less. 😞

I don't think I've ever done this quest but since there's a fully developed small skeleton maybe she ended up there because she went into labor and was seeking shelter or somewhere for her to give birth ? Or knew she was going to be giving birth and sought out shelter there?

Either way I agree with everyone it is sad but adds for good lore and theories!
