The AI has undergone some tweaks and iirc is still tinkered with a bit to make enemies more distinct from one another and add some more depth to the encounters, but especially as of the last patch, the AI is doing a great job at keeping you on your toes

Possibly unpopular opinion here, but considering that AE is going for an imaginative, surreal setting with Hexen and Heretic influences, I feel like they're doing a really good job when it comes to level design.

If I had to choose one area I liked the least on initial EA release it would be the enemy AI, but they pretty much fixed everything I disliked about it with the latest public build, changing up the behavior of ranged enemies, strafing etc. Great to hear that everyone agrees Ep5 is really cool.
