I died a little bit past this area, everything was working perfectly, and I quickloaded (Funnily enough it was at the start of the level)

when I came back to this section, the platform was already up, yet the rune was not activated in the upper level, so it shouldn't have raised

And here I beat the boss really quickly using the Trident (Because when I reached the level I already had the soul powerup thing so I teared him to pieces in less than 10 seconds), so I quickloaded and wasted the soul powerup because I wanted to fight him again without powerups

So while I was playing around with the settings in Amid Evil, I discovered that it can use a software hook called "X3DAudio HRTF" to add in an HRTF filter for 3D sound. Here's my recordings: 1st is off, 2nd is on w/ default tables, 3rd is with IRC_1058 tables

But I have found that HRTF technology really is hit or miss. It works mostly on how the data tables are configured for head shapes, and obviously not everyone has the same sized head.
