a subforum has been opened for that purpose explicitly
You have to understand that in an effort to make these as uniform as possible, they were ultimately outsourced to a translation company. This was done for a multitude of reasons. We needed a specific and defined format to follow so that LOC could very quickly be swapped out on the fly. Not a document full of words, but a LOC doc full of game strings and their corresponding translation. We decided to put an emphasis on languages per Valve's recommendation and are starting with the following 14. In the end I'd like to see Arabic DUSK and other langs get added.

most of errors in turkish translation comes when people try to translate terms and explanations, and those, along with all the story translations, are solid
video settings will be your goldmine of mistakes

I literally openned up the OG dos version to test whether the game autosaves your progress and can certainly say that no, if you leave / exit the game and re-launch, no, you do not have a "continue" or anything.

as long as you don't have stone age components in there the game will probably run under low spec mode

I'm not sure if Dusk's ai pathing is better than Quake's
they seem to be pretty much the same to me
in neither games do enemies just follow the player in a straight line and proceed to hump walls like in Doom that's for sure
but it's not like they try to do anything impressive with the AI pathing either
Quake at most had the enemies walk around the level while unalarmed and also triggers to allow them to jump to lower heights
(manually placed trigger brushes, not part of the AI itself)
what's REALLY impressive is Quake 3's AI, though
Dusk's AI pathing is absolutely better than Quake
Quake's enemies do not know how to find their way around corners or anything like that
that's why they tend to hang out in one room. They can only get out of areas by luck basically
Dusk AI is stupider than a lot of modern games but can navigate much better than Doom or Quake
Just outta curiosity, David, do the enemies have any other behaviours than firing and charging?
some enemies directly track the player and some try to get near them (usually projectile enemies just try to get near the player, not directly to them). Otherwise naw
they're fairly basic enemies

Quake's levels were designed in a way to comfort the AI, obviously
so it's not like the pathing limitations would be clear, they did a pretty good job at it
but yeah, obviously a polished 2018 game is going to have better AI than a 1996 game, my point is that it's not noticeable
E3M4 is probably my favorite level so far

@pearl thunder the only real problem with dusk is just the balancing.. you know sometimes enemies will be so weak, beating their asses is like a night walk and sometimes they would just downgrade your health super quick cause higher difficulties makes it that one hit does shit loads of damage... its just due to their slow projectiles and they are almost never in place of advantage

in ep1 rivet was worst I thought, not a lot of areas to use it effectively, also it's a super secret that doesn't even count towards level progress cuz it's so secret, I don't think that rivet spot counts
later episodes require better conservation I'd say
ep1 is a cakewalk and I feel like it kinda turns people off
all of dusk is a cakewalk, with the exception of a few levels in ep2 actually. that's just how it be when people have been playing retro fps games since DOOM
ep2 and ep3 are the real challenging episodes

so Nightmare is in a weird spot where it's an extreme difficulty for the average player but easier than the 'Hard' difficulty for experienced players
because once you learn how to exploit the AI changes from Nightmare, it becomes a cakewalk

Shamblers and Ogres especially are easier to kill

then you get a second coming to a previous level and then an arena clusterfuck full of enemies ammo and jumping platforms or whatever they're called
yeah they were gimmicky levels and honestly quite boring
I think it's a perfect evolution that tells you hey, these are the last ones you're about to beat the game
the arena level is just an empty space that keeps teleporting enemies in
but they're coming in perfect combos
homecoming had more puzzles than shooting
this episode has the best visuals but the worst gameplay
and the flying enemies kept getting stuck in the geometry
I mean I don't remember specifically the order but I remember playing and saying oooooh these two together are perfect for this strategy wtf

It was pretty easy on Cero Miedo (except for the arena level), but I'm not sure if it's the easiest episode
the levels are very short, and it has the highest amount of high tier enemies -- however it more often than the previous episodes gives you ammo for your best guns

the arena level was the only one that managed to kill me more than once
well I'm not that experienced
I too made it on cero miedo and I had to try and try and try for some levels
maybe you need more challenge
I should try Duskmare but I fear that's going to be a high difficulty spike

looks like they have a cooldown between attacks but because of the high difficulty they close the gap before the cooldown has ended so they just kind of stand there until they can attack again

just catching up with this channel and yeah, we actually had a lot of internal discussion about how the difficulties are balanced and believe me i'm right with you on believing that CM is quite easy, but i also had to come to terms with the fact that i'm quite a bit above the average player and on record as one of the best fps players at the proverbial office, so with our emphasis on making sure the game was accessible rather than restrictively difficult, we erred on the side of caution to ensure that CM was going to be troublesome but not impossible for the average player rather than a big challenge for those of us who are used to higher level play

there are other difficulties in the game, if you can't take it
a difficulty designed for expert players isn't supposed to be accessible to average players... the difficulty designed for average players is
it incentives behavior often seen in the Doom community, from players that never choose any difficulty other than Ultra-Violence, and then complain that Sigil is 'too difficult'
mod in difficulty 
the whole point of multiple difficulty settings is that each of them is going to be challenging/accessible for different players of different skill levels, right?
well that's what i mean; despite the appearance of sharing the 4 standard + 1 gimmicky difficulty selection with games like doom, CM isn't a direct analogue to UV and wasn't designed to be, and you could almost say that each of dusk's non-gimmicky difficulties could sit kinda comfortably between doom's difficulties, with the easiest being the most accessible to all people, no matter who you are. we have discussed different ways to accommodate higher level players in the future and may even implement such things into dusk down the line, but any concrete plans for that have yet to be made, and as much as "mod it in" has become a bit of a meme, reb is correct in that once the sdk is out, i totally anticipate people making their own versions of the dusk campaign to fit any kind of difficulty you might desire, from baby easy to slaughterwad territory
which is not to say that when the sdk is out, we're washing our hands of any further development, but i do eagerly anticipate to see what kinds of creations people make with it

afaik the only differences are enemy movement/projectile speeds and enemy projectile damage
It's very anti-climatic for me when a big spiky ball that shoots a billion bleeding skulls in all directions dies in 3 seconds to three regular super shotgun shots

i'm pretty sure that's exactly what it is @jagged ferry, i think one of the things we absolutely didn't want to adjust is health per difficulty because enemies becoming bullet sponges on higher difficulties is not fun in the slightest
I wouldn't say I want them to be bullet sponges, but you get ammo for high tier guns like the rifle and riveter as often as there's water in the ocean
(for episode 3 especially)

another good thing to keep in mind is that, a lot of our difficulty "feel" was based around a certain someone who plays doom on HMP and is not very good at it and ICTI is where this someone did most of their playing so that's part of why CM might feel a bit... UV-lite

playing without a crosshair is completely viable
I use the crosshair in addition to viewmodels
for certain weapons it is far easier
when I use stuff like ssg though, I NEED crosshairs, especially in duskworld. With stuff like the mortar and crossbow though, viewmodels are a fair amount easier for me to aim with
