Dusk is very much a Doom/Quake homage with lots of Blood in there, Amid Evil very much a Hexen/Heretic homage with strong Unreal influences. Very similar in some ways, very different in many ways when going deep into the mechanics.

They stand well on their own, they're fantastic games, but you have to be blind or just not know about pre-00s shooters to not pick up what the games are putting down thematically. You can quick save and quick load. Both those keys can be rebound. Just remember to save right at the start of the level. I'm also pretty sure there is a level restart button because I've used it a lot on endless. But I'm not 100%. Double check your controls for it. @neat depot

The night before I first watched the 2016 Dusk Trailer, I dreamed where I was playing an old-school FPS in which one of the sections had me located underground.
