Interesting opinion, @crimson folio

I personally always considered the quicksaves a bit like cheating, just like those people who claim that back in the 90s everybody played Doom using the god mode cheat. I rather prefer to use one save, or maximum two per level in any classic FPS. If the game is fun, then it is not repetitive to do it again. Anyway, I find interesting that you choose to go for the highest difficulty but then you recommend to use quicksaves. Isn't a bit of a contradiction?

I did beat Quake once in Nightmare, but I found out that it becomes boring to shoot 20 rockets to a shambler in order to defeat them, so I normally play it in hard. I mean, I always go back to Quake. I never stop playing it, I just take breaks.

I believe that a well design, fun shooter is a game in which you can replay the same levels and don't get bored. If you think that repeating a level is boring, either you don't like the game or the game itself is boring. Just my theory.

Honestly I savescum all the time. But I'd say you're right, quicksaves in a way cheapen accomplishment. AFter all if you start a new level on Dusk, and die near the end, you only have to start the level again

@tulip osprey That's a known thing, it's something of a feature. If you do it just right you can pick enemy corpses up and flush them. This works with any item thin enough to act as a slope that you can scoop enemies with, such as a book or a bone.

It's entirely possible given that the modder tools, resources and documentation are going to be really comprehensive to my knowledge, DAWN seems like it might end up being versatile for gameplay mods, and there's of course the part where Trenchbroom is used for all those great Quake maps and is the supported map making tool

but I can't seem to redeem this game to gain sound back, the green bar in sound control does not raise when the game is on and running, in other words the game does not provide sound suddenly and restarting game, pc resetting my drivers for headset, reinstalling gmae, verifying cache. NONE works
