I dunno about you but the melee enemies in my game always get a forward-strafe-dusk-hop super shotgun blast in the face before I even realize they're there
dusk is a point and click adventure 
when half of the enemies have a really predicatable attack pattern, the other half are melee enemies that walk in a straight line at u, and you can literally cheese the game with throwable objects and soap (which i did not do whenever i could avoid it) its really easy to trial and error through duskmare even on intruder mode

@storm fox You might want to get the TFix and TafferPatcher fixes for Thief 1 and 2, respectively. There are also some beautiful HD texture mod packs if you so desire to make it look better.

I basically made it a modern layout, but with Tab still bound as the non-weapon item cycling key.
I have only one mousewheel, and it cycles my weapons.

Well, it unfortunately is and will always be a niche indie game with a small playerbase. It's primarily a single player game with multiplayer thrown in for those who want it.
