The one that has the most is the thresher, and it ain't hard
there's only one real platforming session and it doesn't instalkill you on failure

in duskworld there are some pretty annoying ones to avoid, but that's only because of the fact that you spawn with full momentum right next to them after death

and i like how ur flashlight is broken for a good chunk of the level
almost all of the broken flashlight sequences are rlly good for something that sounds like a very bad mechanic

grabbed one of the orange explosive barrels
and it was even better the first time because i picked up the super shotgun while i was getting chased by the fucker on the stairs and i gibbed him and then read the pickup message
pistoled it to set it on fire
set a crate on fire
and just chucked it at him
and ran away

used the barrel as a campfire

the crossbow is rlly high up because if you figure out the angles for it you can abuse the fuck outta it

i love the concept of the crossbow, it's literally a gun that finishes fights before they even start if you have map knowledge
the mortar can actually be stupidly helpful
its not a combat weapon it's just like a strategy weapon
especially against bone monks or in the ||jakob|| fight

i basically instantly switched to the assault rifle
like my instinct was just "IT'S YOUR TIME"
i honestly find it hard not to use the assault rifle when i pick up a fast fire totem
like you have a fairly accurate gun that does decent damage and has a good amount of ammo
and then you make it fire 800+ rounds a minute
(idk if it actually fires that fast with a totem but it feels like it does)

in half life my energy weapon usage is basically like this
tau on the houndeyes in that one room in questionable ethics, the helicopters in surface tension, and nihilanth
and then the gluon gun on that one room when you exit the elevator in lambda core right after you get it

@jagged ferry after all, half life was the game that introduced easier gameplay to the genre. It has little to no skill whatsoever. It's a game that revolved purely around it's storytelling features. A predecessor to the rail shooter of Call of Duty
No skill, just a story and flashy effect that make you feel badass without really achieving anything

i feel like old school shooters in general are easier to me than something like Half Life
Half life 1 was almost a stealth game in some sections

Naw not really there is no benefit to being stealthy in doom
Literally all enemies know where you are when you get into general proximity with them
And there’s no way to sneak around most encounters
the only time I've ever used stealth is by trying to take out the first two zombiemen with the chainsaw on Level 1 of DOOM 2

it did -1 health +1 morale
that way if you had a lot of health but rlly low morale

you could just smoke all ur health into morale and then get a health pack

That means you can also fly if you jump on top of a box, grab the box, jump, bring the box upwards with you, release the box, and use it as a jumpting platform: then you grab it again mid air
what happens is that you keep bringin the box upwards and using it as platform to keep jumping up

it did... "work"
as the fork stopped me from clipping through the box, even though I WAS holding the box
from there onward, how to use that to "prophop" dusk style, beats me. How do you do that?
I just did it, I was able to double jump. But the intermediary object (the fork, in my case) flies all over the place

Ahh, that combo of props may do the trick
I get whats going on
when you grab an object, it brings the object closer, say, the pipe, it forces the pipe to come to be at, say, 5 inches from you
but because there is the barrel in the way, the pipe keeps trying to come closer, and thus moves the barrel (and you) upwards
and the process continues as an endless cycle
Seems it's specifically the pipe the one that can cause this, as it seems to be particularly easy to pick from a longer distance compared to other props
So, why around the whole game there are so many secrets that reference the beggining of the game?
like, every once in a while there is a secret that shows, perhaps thorough a window, or teleports you, back to the woods of E1
