It is very, very brilliant. Forgiving as well. You can hup in place and maintain momentum.

The Fork Maiden may be a manifestation of Dusk Dude's memories of his mother's abuse, hence the elongated arms. The Maiden's arms also seem to resemble spaghetti, further alluding to Dusk Dude's repressed memories of being abused. It is also similar to one of the monsters DD used to draw as a child; the drawing is found in in a corner of E1M1 near the door leading to the yard. The "outfit" DuskDude wears is similar to the dress that Alessa wore in Silent Hill.

he liked Escher but didn't enjoy Erebus for the sole reason that even he (who likes games that don't really hold hands and lets the player explore since he's a hard core DOOM fan/veteran) felt it was a bit confusing and felt frustrated when he finally came out of the reactor which I think is a fairly valid complaint

I have a question David - what was the first level in E1 that you developed?

Reason I ask is because I was curious as to whether or not you followed Romero's rule of doing the first level last, so you make the levels for the episode, gain the experience, become comfortable with the tools, how to execute your vision etc, then nail it on the last level you make - which would then turn out to be E1M1 - a perfect distillation of your accumulated knowledge and produces the best first impression.

I made a save for every level so, I wanted to clean up the list a bit.

Okay, turning on Steam Sync right after you make your new save just throws all the old saves back in on top of the new one. So I'll try it the other way.

Yeah I finished the game yesterday and being a fan of Lovecraft the last boss had me exclaiming "Hell yeah!" in real life. Absolutely amazing game and I've legit never felt as satisfied with giving away my money to a developer as I have after buying and finishing this game, it's an entirely new and absolutely amazing feeling to me!

On the level in E1 where you first enter the town of dusk and you can go out of bounds to find the “you’re not supposed to be here” secret message, I took the bounce pad to leave the outside of the map. When I landed back in the playable zone I didn’t fully land on the map, instead I landed on what I’m guessing is the skybox? I was stuck and had to revert to a previous save

Yeah ,that's sort of just how that is, you can either Clip back into the map elsewhere, or go back through the hole you came in through

I jumped up on one of the forklifts and was like ok there’s a wall blocking the outside of the map, I can definitely jump over it right? And so I bhopped over it and when I found that message I couldn’t help but be amazed

any speed above the max speed gets quickly put back down, its useful for IL runs but they are micro boosts at best unfortunately

from what I understand: there's a speed counter that adds up whenever you HUP while doing SR45 in any direction. If you're grounded, that value is decreased by a constant amount
