I've actually already made one small improvement to how the AI works already.

AI can spit out radio noise for the player to track so they can get the advantage over the enemy.

That was an issue with Shogo, not a lot of cues for the player to recognize that there is a battle coming up.

I've been looking through the source code for Shogo and it gave me a much, much better understanding of how the game works. So many odd quirks.

Like, skyboxes are created with door objects and there is a locational damage system with appropriate animations but it is rendered useless with higher difficulties = higher HP.

I've already made a balance overhaul for Shogo, meant for the campaign.

#

I would love to edit the campaign and make extensions to it, but I don't have the map sources of course.

#

There's also a consequences system in Shogo where you can program certain objects in maps to trigger a message to the wider campaign, and based on that trigger things can happen in consequence.

#

For example, in one level if you turn off an alarm in the next level you get one less enemy.

#

I am sure you can do very, very cool things with this.

#

There's also a psuedo-stealth system where it seems NPCs have viewcones you can avoid.

#

And yes, to make skyboxes you have to use door objects.

#

In Shogo there's actually some important character exposition that was left unused, yet it was all recorded.

There are even relatively many leftovers from a scrapped school level.

Desk models, chalkboard and locker textures, locker sounds, dialogue.

You might be able to recreate parts of it but please for the love of God don't.

There are even scraps suggesting what you were supposed to do in this level.

From what I could gather, you had to save someone's life and grab a flower for someone.
