I think I've decided to leave all the oob skips in ep1. Ive added exterior treetops (the same idea as the vista you see in the blue key secret in e1m3) to a few levels that make it less obvious that you can jump out however. The levels no longer look like they're floating in space.

The player just passes through the treetops though so level skips are still possible.
