no no ive been playing all the old school shooters like this, it just makes it more fun
really forces you to learn the levels

if you're playing a level for the first time and you've been playing a while and a wendigo comes out of nowhere its terrifying
but if youve been saving heaps you can just load earlier so its not a big deal
theres only one level where i felt i really had to save

the escher labs level with the floating platforms, i was like "ok im going to have to save here, theres no way i can do this without falling"
also yeah i tend to avoid the bonus extra hard modes

Palettes are optional and I typically don't ever use them except maybe to increase contrast/saturation a little
Giving favoritism to any specific color usually results in at least a couple maps looking bad, from my experience

This is as far fetched as can be and I'm not expecting it, but it'd be cool if there was a "hardmode" version of every level with different enemy/weapon placement
Sort of like taking Super Meat Boy's dark world concept and putting it into an FPS
Like having Wendigos in EP1, or having weakened experiments be normal enemies

There's just one Unity 2018 bug we're waiting on to be fixed, but we found a temp workaround
But despite it not taking long, it was actually a pretty painful process at first
because I'm not counting the hours of failed attempts at figuring out how to move things over without it breaking horribly before that :v
(Dusk remained on Unity 5.x for a very long time, and we skipped right over Unity 2017 straight to 2018, and well, some of the third party stuff in use didn't like that)

so basically he makes everything in SP from the modelling to map design.

Gotta say @thorn trout you've come a long way from that 2016 demo. The level reminded me of one of those Q!Zone levels with the random hallways and shit and Endless had no satisfying loop. I would still love to see these enemies thrown into an eighth-assed episode 4 expansion though. Maybe even as just a fun little thing thrown in with the sdk
yeah that was like the first level I ever made and it's rough. Endless mode was thrown in at the last minute kind of and it literally just spawns enemies on a timer. And it kinda sucks :P
