That entire stream I was heavily judging much of Ep1's map design

I just think it fell victim to a lot of Quakes weaker points.
Designs that Doom would flourish at, that a 3d map with fewer enemies sprinkles in doesn't... Back tracking etc. I was also drunk and running by doors though π
I hear Ep 2 improves on this a whole bunch and regardless of those feelings I loved Ep1 a ton.

@potent kestrel you do realize that call of duty evolved constantly? People give it too much shit, but as far as skill gameplay goes - it's one of the better products on the market. Or at least was until they decided to add more facets to skill and add jumpjets and wall running, pretty much annihilating noob portion of the crowd (which was the majority)
@opal plover rather let the modding flow and let players create modding packs. As far as i'm aware David developing full on sdk+api for dusk, along with various quake map editors support, so at the very least - it should have strong moddability.

WWII is kinda cool but I CBF to play the same game I played in 2007
strength of cod is a challenge of playing against real players. Because treyarch, infinity ward and sledgehammer - all do not have skilled AI programmers in order to write competent bots. Best single player experiences spin from having either variety of enemies (which you cannot in military shooter) or having decent AI (FEAR did it). Without either one of them you can only craft linear, heavily scripted bombastic movie shit.
Compared to how big it was after COD4, yeah, it was a niche WWII shooter

Well framerate improves significantly when I lower the resolution to 800x600. It's playable and somewhat enjoyable, but I wonder why my monitor's native resolution drags the fps down so much
