How will you load custom maps/episodes? Will it be something similar to Blood where there's an option in the chapter menu, something like this:

I always get warm fuzzies when level loading is integrated into the GUI instead of being pushed into console, accessibility is always nice

That's what I was hoping for, having it be compartmentalized in its own submenu instead of having custom episodes appear alongside vanilla ones would keep things nice and clean

generally for even small games you have more than one person working on a single level. I'm doing 33+ on my own

yeah it's a common misconception that coding the game is the big part of development, when in reality making all the different assets is most of the work

guess it depends on how good you are at coding as well as everything else
getting the actual gameplay of a game to work, especially in an engine like unity takes very little time tbh

speaking of which, jefe, dumb q but did you do all the "voices" in DUSK? enemies, jumping noises, scary voice at the start of the game etc

theres something about hearing a jump sound over and over again in a game where bhop or strafejump is a prime mechanic thats just really nice on the ears

but with how fast you accelerate to max speed in dusk they can't quite compare
DUSK has the most satisfying movement of any FPS I have played.

the only thing in dusk that is mildly dissatisfying in terms of movement is crouching in midair
you just lose all your speed
Yeah I tried stringing jumps and slides together when I first played DUSK and realized quickly that it doesn't work.

but the way you can strafe jump faster than captain fucking falcon zooming in big blue and instantly jump backwards out of it is downright amazing

I doubt that SoapWar will be a default gamemode :p
The only real problem I see with more than one game mode is that it splits up the playerbase and if the game ends up not having much of one finding a match for a specific game mode at any given time may be problematic
The best example for me is reflex
All the game modes I want to play nobody is playing and as a result I rarely ever touch it

This is the first time I've ever heard of such an issue
It's more common among outlier playerbases.
Examples include games that have 300000000000 players, but only 200 play a certain mode.
Inverse would be the game of 200, but 20 of them only play a specific game mode while the others play the rest.
Having each gamemode be a "staple" of the genre would mitigate that problem, since most everyone would at least know what they were getting into, right?

With crossbows and bolt action rifles being a thing, I think it's also important to have enemies that can engage you at long range

for low spec PCs and for good fps there's literally no better option right now than to buy dusk

if youre in e1m2 its understandable, that level has some performance issues
also if you could post some system specs that would be helpful
we're very dedicated to good performance, so ill do what i can to figure it out
