You could do something that doesn't look bad but yeah that would be too much work for something as unused as quick melee
the thing is, you would have to either A) remove the players control over weapon switches, and LOCK them into doing a "quick melee" SLOWER than actual melee
or b) slow down the attack cycle of the sickles
neither of which are fun

theres like a half second or full second delay on shooting a grenade where right clicking doesnt work
its really janky and not fun to use
also it just feels like a worse riveter even when it works

I'd say "maybe having it explode on direct hit would be good", but I feel like the grenade launcher was designed the way it is so despite it being powerful, it's not the perfect weapon in every situation imaginable (such as close quarters)

I feel that the strength of the grenade launcher in quake was that you could shoot and spam around corners and it would fly everywere and annihilate everything, the mortar is not as bouncy and looses a bit of the fun factor imho
i suggest using the inherited momentum for that
can bounce a lot more than quake grenades using that method
but the thing abotu it is that quake is almost entirely narrow corridors and corners to spam around
dusk has too many open spaces for that tactic to be used a lot

Actually now that I looked back and compared the two I realised that they are pretty much identical bounce wise. I'm pretty sure that I felt that way because of the design of the granades as they don't really rotate to say.

porting older maps happens all the time in older games. as long as they are just community maps and not part of the official package, there is nothing anybody can do.

the unreal bot didnt really pass the turing test. it was very close though. that bot simply mimicked the habits of the player it was up against. repeating similar mistakes and habits

If you want a more specific example, I'm making a map that's vaguely inspired by Boarding Action from Halo, which was a map that has two ships flying parallel to each other; instead of using teleporters to go between ships like Halo did, I wanted to use bounce pads that give the player enough forward momentum to clear the gap

cut content will go on TCRF
mortar was retextured and now explodes on contact gibs stay around a bit longer and a bug with quicksaves fixed
