I've been thinking of some model replacers, strictly model and possible animation timed exactly the same as vanilla animations. revolvers will replace pistols with the cycle of the cylinder matching the time of the slide cycleing on the pistols. sickles replaced with tabbacco hatchets or large hookbill knives. Super S can be replaced with a over under model shotgun. lever shotguns can be replaced with pump guns racked one handed john woo style. Sword can be a bangstick with the round firing giving a excuse for the high damage. And thats as far as I've gotten. Now I just need to learn how to mod

it being a pain to pose is inevitable tbh with so few polys. and arms are difficult to pose with IK regardless, so i'd recommend using FK on the arms if you can

== DUSK & DUSK SDK (DAWN) INFORMATION DUMP ==
01. Dusk is developed entirely in Unity, although you could easily mistake it for the Quake engine.
02. TrenchBroom is the "officially" supported mapping tool, but that doesn't mean others won't receive support or testing.
03. Custom scripting (enemies, weapons, game modes, etc) will be ready long before custom levels will be, and will likely have some form of public testing phase.
04. The SDK will contain various tools to aid with mod creation, but none are necessary if you enjoy developing raw (maps and shaders are exempt from this).
05. Scripting involves a custom definition language along with Lua for behaviour control, and potentially Squirrel as an alternative option down the line.
06. Custom levels are currently in the form of asset bundles, which a BSP must be converted to within Unity. There are technical reasons behind this, but there are plans to remove this limitation and allow loading BSPs directly.
07. The official game data formats are IQM (models), PNG (textures), flac (audio), however they are not the only ones you can use.
08. You are able to load Quake 3 MD3 models, and potentially Quake 1 MDL models down the line. However, this feature is not officially supported, so don't expect it to be flawless.
09. Yes, there will be a console. Yes, mods can make use of it.
10. An .fgd and a .wad will be provided for use in Quake mapping tools

I don't know exactly how it works from the vod, but my take is that if you can gain forward momentum solely by save-spamming, it should be removed
Because it means that open terrain with no walls can be completely negated by the player through means not available through their normal equipment
I did a strawpoll about it from the speedrunners' point of view
and what they think
For instance, let's say I make a huge cliff with the exit at the opposite end, and you're meant to trigger a bridge; with this glitch, you'd be able to get across despite not being able to do so with the riveter/crossbow
and it was very split, but the majority was in favor of removing it
Glitches like this remove mechanical skill from speedrunning and make the run less fun to watch, if you want that take from it
and I agree with you, I think it's a very uninteresting mechanic that can really screw with casual playthroughs aswell

That's a separate system, and a player wouldn't want quick melee to override whatever they had in their Q slot

so heres the thing
itd be dumb
because the sickles attack very fast, it would just look buggy and bad to switch back as soon as the attack is finished
the cycle time for mighty foot was significantly higher
quick melee could become a thing you hold
which attacks with the sickles then returns once you let go
but again itll just look buggy and bad for the most part
when you have the sword quick melee should say mighty blade engaged and use the sword
