i think one of the most nail biting aspects that can occur in a Horror game is when you are given power to deal with some things and then find you are completely helpless versus others. it creates a kind of "SHIT SHIT SHIT" moment in which you're essentially given power and perhaps self-confidence only to have it ripped away. this however is insanely difficult to achieve a good balance of without introducing "unfairness" to the player which always sticks out like a sore thumb

framerate issues, game speed issues (some people could not get it to run at normal speeds even with fps locking), the keyboard is simply out of the question on 1, but even with controllers some would fail to map properly and gamepad mapping programs had issues getting proper results, sometimes the joysticks depending on the pad's sensitivities would be out of whack, on some hardware it was incessantly crashy, infact it still crashes regularly on most hardware
