@narrow mica not just that... I hated the setpieces in Metro (felt like some of them really destroyed the atmosphere) and while I'm not opposed to linear FPS, the world and atmosphere really felt like they were crying out for a more open exploration-focused experience
I didn't hate the game overall but it didn't do much for me, which came as a surprise considering how much I love games from that part of the world usually.

I made the "don't update" rule for myself when I was trying to figure out why my lightmaps kept breaking. Turns out it didn't have anything to do with the version I was using, BUT I have had issues with things breaking after an update in the past. And I know dev friends who regularly encounter issues after update as well.
