My take on the DRM thing: A lot of people think publishers use DRM to prevent piracy, and are just blindly ignoring the fact that DRM can never completely stop piracy. I don't think that's the case. Publishers aren't stupid, and while DRM doesn't prevent piracy, it sure as hell can (and does) DELAY it. The hope being that it delays it long enough that some people who might have otherwise just pirated the game aren't willing to wait, and buy a legal version.
