I mean they will be able to see if they are capable of their job quicker bc they are looking in at one role in one area

plus nothing's different between jrmod and mod other than perks and appearance of the role, jrmod lets people know that they're new to the team

JrMod is given to people for at least 2 months until they and everyone else believe that they’re ready to move on. JrMod is supposed to tell the community that they’re in training, could make mistakes, and might not know everything yet. People don’t need a role specifically to help answer questions and such.
