"based on a very light inside joke made by a group of users. "
What was the joke, and how would they know it was a 'safe' joke among the group rather than a malicious 'joke'?

#

You say you won't mention it, but frankly a lot of people brush up their discriminations to "light-hearted jokes" or "inside jokes among friends" so there really is no way to trust it.

#

Was it on a player server? Because in most of those cases, they've been reported by other people on that server

#

You know how many people are in the lobbies, right?

#

You've got a chat that moves fast, you have zero possibility of knowing what friend groups there are and who are in them. Then you have zero possibility of telling whether it really was a simple inside joke, so you have to make a quick decision to remove potential discriminatory people so that there won't be any that slip by and end up being malicious.

#

Homophobic people often would start small and then get worse if left unchecked.

#

Of course not saying you are, but it's not really something to take chances on.

#

Ticket probably could've been handled better

#

Intended or not doesn't matter much since anyone can use the same reason, whether they really mean it or not

#

wdym they dissed you?

#

Gotta be consistent tbf ¯_(ツ)_/¯

#

Assuming the motive for discrimination bans. They have to be consistent, because as said before, they shouldn't let some off with lesser punishments even though they were maliciously intended

#

The reason it's so long is to GIVE you that fear of punishment

#

It isn't supposed to be a slapping on the wrist, it's supposed to be prevention for the future

#

That's how the system works

#

They don't want to scale for severity because that's room for moderator error & opinion, that's why they just have a standard first offense time
