For the general thread, it could be a bit too broad, but we'll think about it
Batman/DC wouldn't be a bad idea. For both the ideas you have to think if people will use them and be active in them.

An enormous amount of servers have channels for general discussion of this nature.
I think it would see much more activity than specialized threads.
Even if I were to go to talk about something that has a thread of it’s own, I would probably prefer to talk about it in a general thread. I would be speaking from the perspective of someone who does not care about that particular franchise/show etc like the people in the specialized threads do, and would prefer to express my thoughts on them as a casual outsider who just likes movies and television overall.
