Any of the xenoblade games (1 and 2 are both on switch and Xenoblade X is on the Wii U)
Fire Emblem Three Houses (probably the least rpg-ish out of all of them)
Dragon Quest (there are 4 games I believe on the switch: 1, 2, 3, and 11)
Final Fantasy (I believe 6, 7, and 8 are all on switch)

I've heard very good things about Chrono Trigger as well but I have not played it myself

that's what I thought Square Enix hadn't touched Chrono since it's initial release on the DS

I've also heard good things about Octopath Traveler but same deal with that one; I haven't played it myself

and then depending on how far you're willing to go with "rpg" I can recommend more lol

Really though I'd recommend any of the final fantasy games

I've been spoiled a bit with FF7R is there any game with that kind of gameplay besides well 7 itself but it's the PSX version of it

So FF7R and FF7 actually have very different stories

There are a lot of similarities but they're completely different stories

but yeah any of the other final fantasy games have similar gameplay

6 is the main outlier

The one I've heard about is neo twewy

So DQ XIS has a demo and I don't know if I like the gameplay yet it's jarring a bit it's quite like FF7R in the sense where you can move around but what does that essentially do? Since you can't freely attack

It doesn't do anything lol

It's kinda fun to play around with but yeah it gets old pretty quickly

But there's a setting to turn it back into the rigid draqon quest fighting style
