Switch 1 has an option of saving all of your data before you transfer to Switch 2. It got used a lot before Switch 2 released. I believe you can find it in the settings, somewhere in "save data" section.

I have my Switch 1 turned off so I can't give you details 😭

Basically your data gets saved in a Nintendo server and you can pull it out after you sign into Switch 2

● This feature would let the Switch creates an on-demand Wifi network similar to a mobile hotspot network. Then you can join this network by scanning the first QR code. The second QR code is an URL link to a web page hosting the screenshot/video.
● On many Android device, it's best to use the device's built-in QR code scanning app or camera app with QR code scanning ability, other apps will not have the correct privilege to join Wifi network.
● If your phone doesn't have a built-in QR code scanning app, you can also join the Switch's Wifi network by using the SSID (Wifi's name) and Password provided after scanning the code.
● If you cannot get it to work, try posting to social media and get the file from there instead. Twitter works best for pictures and Facebook works best for videos.
