#Switch1 to Switch 2 tansfer question

Hello, I'm concerned that if I transfer my data from s1 to s2 that my data from s1 will be completely gone. The reason being that I have so many controllers for s1 that I would hate to waste. I did read somewhere that after transferring the data will be the same for both switches and that playing on one will save on the other, is this true?

One more question tho, I have Splatoon three downloaded on the console, I’m assuming that if I play on one the data will save on the other. But what happens when I open both simultaneously?
