#Connection Dropping in Multiple Online Games

TLDR; My switch hasn't been able to stay connected to online matches in multiple different games consistently for over a week.

For around a week now, my Switch hasn’t been able to stay connected to online games such as Fortnite, Overwatch, and to a lesser extent Warframe. I will be in the middle of a game, and then suddenly I get a connection error and I am booted from the game. The connection drop is seemingly short enough to keep me connected to the game as whole though, as I am almost always immediately able to requeue. As an example, I was in a Fortnite match with a friend earlier and I lost connection to the game, but when I was back in the lobby, my friend and I’s IN GAME voice chat was still connected and I was able to still talk to him. I have tried everything on my end to try and resolve this, rebooting/power cycling my router, resetting the router, and even setting up port forwarding to multiple different port ranges for all three of the games mentioned above. Still I am losing connection. The only reason I’m still thinking its my network and not the Switch itself is because my internet dropped for a few minutes the other week, and all this has been happening since then. Though my Switch does seem to be the only device effected. Please, does anyone know about this issue or have any suggestions? The only thing I haven’t done yet that I can think of is factory reset my Switch.

Just for more info, my Switch is a day one launch model and I play exclusively in hand held mode. This is the only issue I’ve ever had with it.

You can test if its your switch causing issues or if its your internet by trying it in a place you know has reliable internet/hotspot, if the problem persists and it behaves the same way on a different internet source,

It might also be the network access point you’re connected to, the switch’s wifi is pretty bad so i usually suggest getting a docked setup with a lan connection instead of wifi

・ The Nintendo Switch OLED's dock with an ethernet port is also an option for all original Switch version (Except the Switch Lite).

Note:
・ LAN adapter works better with the USB port on the back of your dock.
・ You can use an USB-A to USB-C adapter for handheld/tabletop mode or with Switch Lite.
・ Aside from official ones, other LAN adapters may make the Switch slightly heat up in sleep mode. You can get rid of this by turning off the always connect setting in System Settings > Sleep Mode > Maintain Internet Connection in Sleep Mode.
