microSD card not inserting right

I bought a 128gb microsd card from a company called kingston technology. When i put it in normally and restart it says the card was removed when it wasnt. If you need a pic of it lmk

What happens if you try another SD card?

(Any sd card will do for this test)

I mean i dont think its one of the cheap ones that dont work

But when i push it farther in it works so idk what to do

Might be a faulty card reader. But without another SD card, it’s tough to tell.

Since it is the right size, but ive noticed other sdcards being longer than mine

Where are you getting the idea that the card is the wrong physical size?

Though idk if thats android only tho

It says compatible with android devices

All SD cards that are standards-compliant will work

(Including yours)

Anyway. I suggest getting a cheap 32GB SD card from a reputable brand just to test with. I suggest PNY, Samsung, Kingston, and SanDisk

If the second SD card works fine, then it’s probably your Kingston card that’s the problem. Otherwise it’s probably the card reader.

do you know what can cause the card reader to fail?

could have been faulty when you bought or it probably broke as you used it if you bought the switch before 2020. Mine probably broke since its a very old switch
