Hey guys, I wanted to see if anyone has tried using their Joy-Cons on an iPad or iPhone. I can connect them, but when they’re connected they don’t actually do anything, I can’t use any buttons, etc. does anyone have any advice?

Although that's strange, I thought they would at least control pointer.

@rocky garnet I saw someone on YouTube using them to go through apps on the Home Screen and open them, then could scroll / pause videos on them

#

All I need is to be able to scroll through videos and pause for school

rocky garnet
#

Uhuh that's what I thought as well

gusty flint
#

I don’t know why it’s not working it’s extremely frustrating

rocky garnet
#

Which iPad version and iOS are you using?

gusty flint
#

They both connect instantly when I pair them but do absolutely nothing

rocky garnet
#

maybe it's not supported on that version

gusty flint
#

9th gen iPad 16.6

#

Should def be supported

rocky garnet
#

and you had the same issue on iPhone?

gusty flint
#

I haven’t even tried it on my phone actually. Let me check

#

Same issue on my phone

rocky garnet
#

hmm

gusty flint
#

But my remotes work fine on switch

#

I don’t understand lol

#

Is there something I need to turn on on my settings

#

Like accepting outside controllers or something in general

rocky garnet
#

I can't really tell since I don't have an iOS device to test right now

gusty flint
#

I’ve never used any accessories on my devices

rocky garnet
#

But that was confirmed quite a while ago, maybe they changed something

gusty flint
#

Would you be able to test it another time and get back to me?

#

If not it’s ok

rocky garnet
#

For now, can you try to test it on some games with controller support?

gusty flint
#

Thank you

#

What games have it? Does slay the spire

#

That’s like the only game I have on my iPad lmao

rocky garnet
#

lol if I have to choose one, that's a game I would keep on it as well

gusty flint
#

Another piece of info: they say connected on Bluetooth and have the single light on (so they are actually fully connected)

#

Yeah right? It works so well on mobile

rocky garnet
#

Let me check

#

hmm no support for Slay the spire

brisk venture
#

wtf its possible to pair them to mobile devices?

rocky garnet
#

btw, unrelated but check out "Dawncaster" and "Slice & Dice" @gusty flint

#

and say good-bye to your free time

gusty flint
#

Are they on steam or just mobile?

rocky garnet
#

mobile

gusty flint
#

Roguelike deck builders?

#

Which one should I try first

rocky garnet
#

Yeah, Dawncaster is rogue-lite deck builder

#

with branching story

#

Along the same line, check "Night of the full moon"

#

also on PC

#

Although great, kinda annoying with the weird translation

#

meanwhile Slice & Dice is rogue-lite fantasy RPG dice game

#

it's like you control a party of dungeon & dragons, and you roll dice for their actions

#

Darn thing is too good for its price, very very high value

gusty flint
#

Thank you

#

I love roguelikes/roguelites. They’re prob my fav genre

rocky garnet
#

Same haha

gusty flint
#

I haven’t found a good deck builder like slay the spire yet

rocky garnet
#

I say Dawncaster is very close

gusty flint
#

Almost ascension 10 on multiple characters

#

Monster train is good

#

If you haven’t tried it

rocky garnet
#

Yeah but not on mobile

gusty flint
#

Yeah

#

And uhhh what’s the other one

#

Inscription

rocky garnet
#

They say they are working on it but no idea when it will be released

gusty flint
#

Inscryption

rocky garnet
#

That one is kinda annoying coz it has some other elements in it

#

In term of simplicity and addictiveness, I'd say Slice & Dice is equally as good as Slay the Spire

gusty flint
#

By the way, Joy-Cons worked on a game on my iPad

rocky garnet
#

Dawncaster is better than Night of the full moon, but both has some story element in it. Which eventually you will remember how to deal with them.

gusty flint
#

That’s baffling

rocky garnet
#

Hmm

#

Maybe they changed the way it worked :\

gusty flint
#

I just want to be able to use them to pause and go back and forth on my med school lectures

rocky garnet
#

I'm trying to see if there's a setting for it but...

#

I don't see anywhere mentioning such feature

#

Can you check on your end?

#

Maybe it's in Accessibility

#

@brisk venture while we wait him to check, read below for some fun
