I recently bought a 2 terabyte micro sd card for my Switch Oled. I would have just transferred the data from my previous 512gb card to my new one via my laptop, but it doesnt have an sd card slot so i looked up other methods online and the simplest one seemed to be just archiving all the games on my old micro sd and redownloading them on my new one. So thats what i tried to do, i archived all the games and redownloaded them to my 2 terabyte micro sd after formatting it in settings. But when i started to redownload my games, all the downloads i started kept corrupting and a popup window said i had to reinstall them from the eshop. So i deleted the games one by one and then tried reinstalling a few but i got the same error message even though i did what i was told. Is there any other method i can use to get my games back? All of my games except two are bought from the eshop by the way.

Not sure if this matters or not but i also updated the system after formatting the micro sd card because i was told to when i tried do reinstall a game. So i had yet not reinstalled any games before the update.
First, we gotta check if the card is legit or not. Can you post a pic of the card?
And where did you buy it from? For how much?
A link to the seller's page is good as well
Heres a pic of the card and adapter that came with it and a link to the site i bought it fromhttps://behappy-solutions.com/sv/minneskort/42-minneskort-sdxc-2-tb-2048-gb.html?SubmitCurrency=1&id_currency=7&gclid=Cj0KCQjw1aOpBhCOARIsACXYv-epbjJ7QQrqCDP8keKCwBblUfYyINVlgwqI7N4EHj5UR9NoqMz4BwQaArLPEALw_wcB
The correct amount of storage space shows up in the data management settings on my switch
That doesn’t mean anything; it could be set to claim the proper amount of storage even though it has less.
oh okay
yes it is
You can get a Samsung 512GB card for about thirty U.S. dollars on Amazon.com
Do you have a method of reading the SD card in your PC?
dont have any way of reading the sd card unless i buy an sd to usb adapter and i had a 512gb card before but bought this one bcus it had 2tb and i prefer to download switch games digitally which takes up more storage
Understandable. Without an SD adapter there’s really no way to test if it’s legitimate. No-name brand cards like this tend to be suspect however.
i do have an older laptop with an sd card slot but it is very slow and easily overheats even when doing simple tasks such as browsing files or google chrome
maybe i could make it work if im quick enough
Hmm. It probably doesn’t read SDXC cards anyway. The test will take a long time.
then its probably no point in trying with that laptop
Do you have an android phone with a microSD slot?
id say return it instead of wasting time and get one of the sd's that are 100% working
MICROSD CARD RECOMMENDATIONS
• Official microSD Card F.A.Q from Nintendo
TL;DR: You should get a microSDXC UHS-I microSD card. UHS-II or higher won't give you any better performance.
• Recommended microSD cards:
・ Nintendo official licensed SanDisk 64/128/256GB MicroSDXC - $16.32/$24.80/$52.99
※ Note: These products simply follow specifications from Nintendo to ensure they are compatible with the Switch, but they do not offer better performance.
・ Samsung Evo Select 64/128/256/512GB - $11.99/$19.99/$34.99/$84.88
(Samsung Evo Plus is the same product outside of North America market)
・ Sandisk Ultra microSDXC 64/128/256/512GB - $11.99/$18.71/$34.99/$90.14
・ Silicon Power microSD 256GB - $28.99
・ (UK) Integral 256GB Microsdxc - £32.46
• Which microSD card size should I choose?
・ Will you buy more physical or digital games?
・ The base Switch and Switch Lite have 32GB of internal memory, while the OLED has 64GB.
・ Check install data size of games you want to play.
・ Firmware update, Save data, screenshots, video recordings and DLCs can take up storage space as well.

Let’s try to fix the problem first, okay?
well that also works
i dont think any phone can take 2TB though
the highest limit a phone ever had is 1TB
Yes if it reads sdxc
i do
Okay great. Let’s try putting the sd card in the android phone.
That card looks sketchy as heck. Is that shopping site popular in your country?
thats what im saying
like i wouldnt even bother with that sd card
Did I include an android testing app in my tag, eh...
MICROSD CARD FORMAT AND TEST
§ To fix Error Code: 2016-0641, data corruption issue. For fixing microSD card not recognized, broken microSD card reader please use tag sdr
※ Note: microSD card only stores screenshots/video capture and games' install data. Save data is stored on the internal memory of the Switch.
■ How to properly format a microSD card to use on Switch console:
You will need a PC computer and a microSD card reader.
1. Use this software, SD Association's SD Memory Card Formatter (Windows/Mac software available.), and format the microSD card using Overwrite option. Mac/Windows software available.
2. Format your microSD card again using your computer's Quick format feature. exFAT and FAT32 filesystem is preferred.
3. Put the microSD card into your Switch console and use the built-in function to format the card one more time.

■ If you suspect your microSD card is broken or fake/counterfeit, you can test using these software:
- Windows: H2Test (Read/Write speed test)
- Mac: Black Magic Disk Speed Test or F3XSwift
- Android: SD Insight
Yeah I did
If your android phone can read the card, use that SD Insight app to test it @novel bridge
Anyways
what kiddy said
do that
it should read the sd card even if it goes over the limit of what that phone can be extended to (it will just adapt itself with the most storage it can till the limit of what that phone supports)
and no this does not mean if it does have 2TB that will not get wiped
I'm betting it's a fake card though, because the first 2TB microSD card was only released in Oct, 2022 by Kioxia, as a test product lol
As in, it's not in the market yet
and the most phones can use is 1TB so like people would get 512gb instead
No, on that part, Doop was right, the technical limit is indeed 2TB on certain reader
my phone doesnt seem to detect it
But phones nowdays has stopped including such microSD reader
get a real card that is tested

You really should do more research before spending something upward $200, man.

im stuck with 256gb 🫡
212gb/256gb full
i have the sandisk ultra micro sd
256gb
you can get that one
if you are fine with waiting until large games install it will do the job perfectly
so yeah do return that fake card
you spent over 200$ for it
yeah thanks anyway
now you can get a 256gb one that is 100% working and still have over 165$ left
well that is the price written there anyways
i got the sd card in my country for alot less than listed here
i found a 1tb one that seems legit https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-MicroSDXC-Nintendo-Switch-SDSQXAO-128G-GNCZN/dp/B0C2B8CCR1/?th=1
With incredible speed, the official licensed SanDisk microSDXC card for the Nintendo Switch System lets you add up to 1TB of space to your system. Spend less time waiting and more time gaming with read and write speeds of up to 100MB/s and 90MB/s respectively. (Based on internal testing; performa...
id recommend getting those from nintendo directly in that case but if that product has alot of buyers and high rating you can try
it has over 200k ratings so i feel safe buying that one
Officially licensed card offers no additional benefit aside from a higher price tag.
^^
You can read that in the tag...
also, you can just search the exact name of those cards in the tag on your prefer shopping sites
i literally just found that same sandisk ultra 1TB which goes even faster than that
upto 150MB
another note, Samsung is slightly better
The SanDisk Ultra microSD UHS-I card gives you the freedom to shoot, save, and share more than ever before. With capacities up to 1TB, the SanDisk Ultra microSD has room for even more hours of Full HD video and delivers blazing-fast transfer speeds to help you move that content in a hurry. Ideal ...
They are just updating models every year, but it's already surpased the Switch's read speed limit
it has good rating too
