SAVE DATA AND YOU
※ Note: Save data is stored on the internal memory and not the microSD card.
• How to transfer a profile's data - Copy an entire profile and its save data from Switch A then move it to Switch B, then delete the profile from Switch A.
• How to transfer individual games' save data - Copy an individual game's save data to another Switch, then delete the save data from the original source.
• How to download save data from cloud backup - Requires Nintendo Switch Online subscription. You can keep multiple copies of save data on multiple Switch consoles this way. Make sure to let them sync/update before playing.
※ Note: If your subscription expired, the cloud save backup will be kept for 6 months before deletion.
○ Exception: Animal Crossing: New Horizon's save data is different and have unique backup and transfer process.
⚠︎ Warning: If you have issue transferring data between Switch consoles (error 2216-5000 with the message "Unable to communicate with the other console."):
• Try connecting both Switch consoles to a different network and attempt the transfer again. (Hotspot will work)
• Delete the Wifi network from both Switch consoles, reconnect them and do it again.
See above. I pasted a link to transfer instructions in this chat
I don’t own that game so I don’t know for sure, but based on what I’m aware of, you should be able to transfer the save data off the original console as per the instructions above
There's some very important info missing in your question here. And since no one has asked I need to:
- Why would you need to redownload the game on your brother's Switch and your Switch?
- What have you done to your account on your own Switch before this?
- Did you go through any account transferring process to put your account onto your brother's Switch?
It's ok if you are confused. Your answers have given me enough info, and this is all solvable.
First, Pokemon has no cloud save data support, that's why when you download the game on your own Switch, it didn't sync the save data over.
2nd, yes, you can transfer your save data from your brother's Switch to your Switch, use the individual save data transfer method listed in the tag. I'll put in here again just in case.

3rd, what allowed your brother to play the games you own is called "Game-sharing". You can keep doing it but you need to read the game-sharing guide below.
GAMESHARING INFORMATION
• Game-sharing is an official feature for the Switch. Its original purpose is to let you play your digital games across multiple Switch consoles. But you are also allowed to use this feature to share games with family and friends, although the process is quite complicated.
• Game-sharing works in a Primary console and Secondary console basis. Your Primary will have no limit, while your Secondary will have several limitations.
Gamesharing is very complex, after reading the guide, if you still don't understand, come back here and ask questions again.
