x360ce - Universal XInput wrapper.

• How to use Pro-con and joy-con on [Linux]
Instructions to install support software and drivers

• [Android] has native support for Pro controller and joy-con. [iOS], [macOS] doesn't support them.

I'm actually not at home rn

#

I'll send a pic as soon as I can

proven geyser
#

Did Steam recognize it?

#

or at least, did Windows recognize it?

#

I have been seeing people reporting driver issue with the controller

final tangle
#

No

#

It didn't recognize

final tangle

I don't have an USB hub

@proven geyser

proven geyser
#

But let's wait till you have access to the controller and computer again. I cannot help you when you are not even close to them.

#

There are steps to take

Press and hold the pairing button on the back of your Pro con until you see the green lights at the bottom of the controller flash back and forth. That's "Pairing" mode.

#

Connect your controller to the PC (If one USB port doesn't work, try a different one)

#

And then press L+R on your controller several times.

final tangle
#

tried

#

no result

#

Will try activating and deactivating switch pro controller setting on steam and restarting pc

#

Does the official charger USB work?

#

ok! will try

proven geyser
#

I still suggest getting a bluetooth adapter, it'll work better than wire

final tangle
#

Won't it have delay though?

proven geyser
#

Have you been using this controller on your Switch?

final tangle
#

yeah

proven geyser
#

Wirelessly?

final tangle
#

no

proven geyser
#

Try using it wirelessly and tell me how you feel about the delay

final tangle
#

(installed better joy driver's and restarted pc)

#

what do i do now?

proven geyser
#

Just use it, haha, what else?

#

For wireless, delays are often extremely minimal

#

it's only important if you play games that requires instantaneous response such as fighting games. And even so, I know tons of Smash players who play with wireless Pro con and they are fine with it.

#

So unless you can feel the delay and don't like it, there's no reason not to

final tangle
#

controller connected now
but whenever i connect it the mouse keeps going to the top right part of the screen

proven geyser
#

Did you close Steam yet?

final tangle
#

closed
seems it fixed

proven geyser
#

it's because you are using them both at the same time

#

BetterJoy will emulate the Pro con into a Xbox controller

#

which Steam can intercept and then you can config it from there

final tangle
#

steam does seem to identify it as an xbox 360 controller but it's default name is "switch pro controller"

#

which is weird

#

but i'll try it out now!

proven geyser
#

It's just a device name, you can even change it

final tangle
#

apparently even the icon changes

proven geyser
#

It's not ideal though

#

After you test it out, try to see if Steam can work with it without BetterJoy opening

#

Since BetterJoy also install a driver to help the computer recognizing it

final tangle
#

okay!

proven geyser
#

It's better not to use 2 different wrappers together like that

final tangle
#

trying it in jsab
for some reason it counts as 2 controllers

#

which is cool i guess but that shouldn't be happening

proven geyser
#

jsab?

final tangle
#

(just shapes and beats)

proven geyser
#

...how would I know what that is lol

#

Try using it without BetterJoy then

final tangle
#

ok!

final tangle
#

closing betterjoy seems to make it work just like there's a single controller now

#

thank you!

proven geyser
#

Now let me explain a bit how and what

#

Windows doesn't really have a good driver for Pro con and Joycon since they are not natively supported.

#

Normally, when you plug it in like this, Windows would give it a generic controller driver, which Steam can identify and work with it.

final tangle
#

also sorry for interrupting but how to turn off controller once taking the usb off from the pc?

proven geyser
#

(To continue) But it didn't install any drivers this time, so we have to go through Betterjoy to force the driver install.

#

Betterjoy's best feature is to use 2 joycon as a single controllers, emulate a Xbox controller.

#

But we don't need that here, we just need to use the driver.

#

You can keep it around if you want to use Pro con/ Joycon outside of Steam's games.

final tangle
#

okay!

#

thank you

proven geyser
#

That's all, have fun then.

final tangle
#

have a nice day! (or night!)

proven geyser
#

You can, by adding games/apps to Steam

#

Although it's up to you, for some people, using it through Steam is quite a hassle

final tangle
#

like just leaving steam in the background works for me

#

to use it's drivers for other controllers

proven geyser
#

I actually haven't tried that but that's great then

final tangle
#

anyway

#

ty!
