@oak wagon I'd put the crushers further in; as it stands they can be picked off by ranged units, so can't do what they do best, decimate melee troops that are in your core
I'd also consider switching your roaster/mortar with the air balloons, then moving one of the ad's to keep the top covered, as with cannon attacks crippling the splash dmg is the best way to win easily, so you want those spread out

I'll show you mine in one sec, I made it myself so it's no masterpiece, but it normally only gets 1-2 starred in the 2200-2400 trophy range
If I put more thought into it the four side walls would be in a more useful place, but I recently upgraded, so just put something together that would hold up alright

The three things you need to think about when building a base are:
- How would I attack this from the air. If there's an obvious weakness, move things around to protect it.
- How would I remove the splash damage. Basically don't have them too close or on the edges.
- How would I remove the crushers. These are super high damage defences, with a massive weakness, their range, so you normally want them tucked in, with other defences in range to protect against ranged attack on them.

Hmm, that's one of the things I have the hardest time making a call over, probably short there as from the most likely approach (the north) it would still have a similar effective range, as they'd be deployed quite near it

Rushing normal isnt specific harder because you meet beyter opponents. But when you upgrade your th to lv11 you will get -10% (idk the exact number) less loot. And for th9 -20% less loot etc. And they will get more loot out of your base th10 +10% th9 20%+ etc

I had that last base for quite a while, and it didn't work too well . Got 3 starred, and 2 starred way too consistently. I've been using that one above - you know the one you say looks like trash? highest is like 72% two star, but 8 out of 10 are under 60% 2 star, and many are just 1 star.

Loot is only a function of your trophies, so choose an army you'll use and rush to bh9 while maxing that army. Only then work on defenses, other army compositions. Walls if everything else is done.

@grizzled forum was BH5 a month or so ago, 2k is decent, I mainly floated around at 2200 loot boundary, my base was near maxed BH5 barring walls
I then realised it's straight up better to rush to better defences in BH, so have stopped maxing

@grizzled forum yes, because of the way the loot system works
The home base ingrained in most people the importance of not rushing, as you get lower loot scaling based on your townhall relative to the opponents (or something to that effect).
With the BH, the loot is solely based off your trophy count, with no scaling factor to account for townhall level
This means that you want to take the course of action that makes your base stronger in the cheapest, quickest way possible
When you up your BH, you gain access to new defensive buildings that introduce a load more dps (50 upwards) as opposed to the upgrade of an existing defence where you get about 10 extra dps (and you don't get another building)
Also, getting more army camps really helps on the attack (going from 4 camps to 6 is a massive improvement)
Another note is generally people want to rush to OTTO to get the extra builder, but even if you want to do the BB for the sake of itself, it's still better to rush as you'll get to higher trophies faster that way an therefore get more loot per win
