From my experience in it, I'd say don't fully max it out, but try to get close. If you can't seem to get any higher in trophies, I would recommend upgrading your builder hall.
I'm no pro though.

And true with the walls just most people don't use bombers on me. It's been mostly nigh witch spams and the battle machine dies before he gets through the wall on the bottom
Most people attack from the bottom, the only time I got 3 starred is when they attacked from the side with bombers and did a slow archer attack with some baby dragons for funneling. Was also a bh8 so they had all 6 camps

Just became a proper builder hall 7 (got the 5th army camp built and giant cannon finishes in an hour) what tips do you guys have for me for base building at bh7? Bh6 was pretty easy but I like bases that are designed to mess with troop pathing and everything I've tried making so far just looks like garbage (no tests thougg, I don't battle when defenses are upgrading)

With the update did they fix rotation of traps when you copy bases?
That was always the frustrating part, having to go look at the base you copied and adjust which way the push traps face.
