Started on the bottom half of the silent king’s throne. I think I hate it though.
I used a slightly blueish grey to highlight the black sections, which looked really cool at first. But then I went and did a quick sketch of my blue legs and now I’m thinking it’s a total clash. They’re similar but not the same. Blue going down into black. But not the same blue.
Would it work better if I paint over the blueish-grey highlights and replace with a more neutral grey?
The ‘black’ sections are Ak black > German grey > anthracite grey
The ‘blue’ legs will be black > dark sea blue > light Prussian blue.
Although right now they’re just black and light Prussian blue. I skipped the middle step just for the initial colour test.
I have a more neutral grey called basalt grey on-hand as an alternative.
That’s another model from my army as a reference point. It doesn’t have any ‘black’ panels though. The whole thing is painted in the blue/black style.
