#Any advice on attaching magnet to a flush bottom?

Hi guys, I'm building the really useful box magnet storage system and it's going great so far. Only problem is a few of my miniatures have a really flush underside on the base. I've attached a picture showing my effort to "dig" out a little recessed area for the magnet, but it's not going great.

Any suggestions on easily carving out an area of the underside to super glue a magnet? Thank you!

Why not glue some magnets in these areas instead of trying to dig into the plastic?

That would be my suggestion

And if they’re too shallow you can buy magnetic sheets and glue those on.

Keep it simple haha ✌️

if you use multiple ... pay attention to polarity

You actually never want the magnet in the exact center, for future reference.

You want them offset or on a side so you and tip the model off the metal plate, that way you don't have to pull it and possibly break the mini over time or weaken the glue and pull the magnet out

Interesting, I'll keep this in mind, thank you!

What did you mean when you suggested using magnetic sheets for shallow undersides? I'm still working through these, but I've found a slew of these miniatures have almost flush undersides. I looked at possibly taking the bases off and putting uniform ones on, but several of the minis have parts of their model formed from the base, so there's no clean way to remove them.
This project is wildly more difficult than I thought haha.

They’re nowhere near as strong as magnets but they work.

Yes, can’t say from the pics if they’re flat enough though.
