Did this awhile back and put it on a shelf because I disliked how it was turning out. I was trying for some contrast with what was supposed to look like a gold silk but then I couldn't think of what to do with all the bits on the cloths. I ended up disliking it so much I did completely different paint jobs on the other two in the unit. If anyone has any ideas how i can improve this one I'd be much appreciated.

I think that some contrasting colors would help. I personally would make parts of the vest red, even add some greens. I like to think about it culturally. This is a genie, Arabic folklore. Look at Arabic clothes, you’ll find a lot of color. Reds, greens and blues are very popular.

The purple looks great so I wouldn't shelve it. Figure out some colors that'll contrast nicely with the purple and do as crimpy said. The yellow only looks bad now because it's so flat and unfinished I think. Maybe yellow-orange and yellow-green and some neutral details.
