So I plan to paint a model made of ABS plastic using a gold Rustoleum spray paint (https://keltonsinc.net/products/rust-oleum®-metallic-spray-gold?gQT=1), and the directions recommend using a Rustoleum primer.
I have Rustoleum 2x paint+primer (https://www.amazon.com/Rust-Oleum-249128-Painters-11-Ounce-Aluminum/dp/B002BWOS80?th=1). Can this act as a primer for the gold? Or do I need a separate primer-only spray can from Rustoleum?
Background: these are the only 2 cans I have on-hand, and this is a very small one-off project (I'm not much of a hobbyist), so I'd prefer to avoid buying any new supplies/primers unless crucially necessary.
