Started printing this proxy knight thing, amazed at the details. All the weapons are magnetised and I think I will try to find a way of keeping the torso able to rotate. So much still to paint before I start weathering...
Just found the post about proxy models, so sadly deleted....
I'll find somethings else more suitable after this one is done.

Working on something bigger, and testing a new super fast rust method.
Splogde on some white paint with the most broken spikey dead brush I could find they inks thru the airbrush over the top, orange, sepia and speia/black mix. still got loads more to do but I think it looks OK for tabletop scenery
Nice work. Have you tried using sponges at all to do this kind of thing?
It works really nicely to thin out the pint and go back and forth with your colours to get some really nice tones and textures quickly. Mix in some washes and you can get some really natural looking grimy effects.
I have, not tried with washes though, this whole thing took me about 10-15 minutes I guess. I like sponges on smaller models, but this was fast and dirty, I'll probably end up giving this away to my LGS as I will never us it. I dont play nay tabletop games like 40k. I just love making and painting this stuff, but have limited space to keep it all.
A little warband from Fantasy Frenzy by Dice Heads, I do like this cartoony style of modelling, its great for new painters and kids to get into the hobby. Quality sculpts that aren't too over detailed, nice simple shapes and forms that look awesome.
Cute, you'd probably like the super dungeon explore stuff too.
Gonna start 2025 with something big. The pile of half painted mini's will have to wait...
I have everything sliced and in a print queue, its 15 build plates each of around 4-5 hours.
So far I have 1 wing printed and assembled and on the second, also done the main body, arms legs and tail, not all in the photo
Couldn't resist the Loot Studios Rise Of Draconians and the massive dragon. This is the 32mm scale version, I cant for the parts for the 75mm scale on my printer
Just been going through my old photos on google from when I got back into the hobby during the pandemic, and how things have changed.
Feb 2020: Found my old paints from the early 90's, are they still OK?
May 2020: Yeah they were good, so I got some more
Jan 2021: Discovered scale creep was a thing...
Fab 2021: 3d printing, its the future, a bit like garlic bread.....
March 2021: Early birthday present, its gonna make me a mini painting master 🤣
Oct 2021: Wife relocated my hobby to the loft...
Dec 2021: Getting this printing and painting sorted, still chuffed with this one to this day.
Feb 2022: Neighbours had a new kitchen, so I recycled some old units and worktops. Also added some insulation and old rugs to the loft.
June 2022: Went to IKEA voluntarily, needs must...
June 2022: 1:192 scale model of a ship from Elite Dangerous with led lights, along with a tiny 11:192 scale spaceman, all printed and painted with thanks to IKEA
Mar 2023: Things are getting silly now, too many paints
Jan 2025: We start a new year, I even cleaned my workspace, I think I only bought a couple of paints in the last year, I did get a new FDM printer Bambu Labs A1 which is awesome, looking at a new, larger resin printer at some point this year. Saturn 4 Ultra atm, but we will see what is available by Easter.
All the parts now printed.
and a quick dry assembly.
Got a feeling this one mnay take some time to paint.
