Contrast paints are pretty transparent because they're ment to be used over light colors. If you use them over darker colors you get much more muted results.
Absolutely good to paint over or mix with regular acrylics however you want. They're just very thin kind of clear acrylics themselves.
All right thanks for the explanation actually makes a lot of sense then. Ill paint over it with some Mephiston Red. I do quite like how the contrast flows on the model
Yeah try them over a white or tan base coat next time.
The fact that they let the paint under show through can be pretty useful though. The "Slapchop" technique is based on this idea
