Wow, blast from my childhood right here
It gets better
Got some wood filler and dry wall putty, mixed it with some sand until it was "rocky" then applied it to a ping-pong ball with a skewer in it. This nestles snugly in unicron's pincers with the stream of planet debris going right into unicron's maw. This is gonna look AWESOME when painted
Gave the planet a few coats of spray enamel
Initial coat of fluorescent orange on the planet being consumed
After layering on darker and darker colors i then begin painting the un-destroyed part of the planet while i wait for Unicron's second half to print. I am trying to plan out coastlines and oceans that are shrinking due to being vaporized and pulled into unicron
Under black light with flash on
Just need to do cloud whisps racing towards one end of the planet and the planet will be complete
And here's how it looks in Unicron's maw
This will look way better when unicron's other half finishes printing and i paint it all up like he looked in the '86 movie
Second half printed and painting begins
Had to spray unicron with gray primer to eliminate layer lines and light bleed
First coat of gold paint on the ring, the trenches, and the mouth
Painting unicron's second layerwith a metallic blue gray.
After DOUSING unicron and the planet with clear coat after clear coat, i got a good result with a damn near indestructible paintjob
Unicron almost finished. Just gotta add clouds to the planet
Gave clouds to the planet
This is sick!
my newest project. a 1:400 scale SSV Normandy SR2 from mass effect 3
Printing the main hull of the normandy
The memoriessss
You can get the Normandy sr2 in 3 versions here https://www.gambody.com/premium/normandy-sr2-mass-effect
Was about to paint her when i realized i forgot the inner port nacelle.
I’m new here so I didn’t see this but that is the coolest thing ever, I haven’t seen a unicorn miniature made before. All of the effects are incredible
Progress painting the normandy so far
Another progress report on the normandy
Assembled the wings and an working on underbelly striping
Dry fitting after painting
Once i paint the windows i will DOUSE this thing in clear coat after clear coat to protect the paint with an almost indestructible finish and make it WAY shinier
Underbelly of the ship
Hanging her up in the garage after a HEAVY clear coat layer
Layer 2 of clear coating also a thick layer.
Just added a third layer of clear coat to the normandy no visual change aside from it getting shinier/glossier with each coat
just got a 3d printer of my own and it's way better than my dad's 3d printer
V-ger is printing. This is one of 6 parts. This is V-ger's engine. Once supports are removed it will look far better
88% on this part
Take 1 failed not long after that image so i improved the vanes so they wont snap during printing
Hopefully wont snap... they look pretty robust
Ok 95% its officially past the point where last print failed due to structural weakness
Print successful. Now to remove the supports and start on next part of V-ger
Supports removed. Looks spectacular
Progress so far, printing the fore half of the spires now
Failed print cause of power outage. Makes awesome paint test bed though
Also noticed the slopes of the aft half of the spires was too steep. Fixed that with custom parts
Also printed exterior details for the vanes and glued them on. The vanes are now WAY stronger
After 2 more prints, V-ger is very nearly complete in terms of structure. Just one more part to print and it is time to paint this bad boy
V-ger is finally completely assembled... now time to paint
V-ger paint job progress
Progress so far. The yellow core lights got a base coat of metallic pale yellow to match the in film look and are due to get a fluorescent glow up (pun intended)
First side of the core now glows
All sides of the core now glow. Of course i need to take care of some paint bleed
My work on V-ger's spires. Im just going aft to front
Made a stand for V-ger styled after the cloud and with V-ger's name plate on it
Progress on V-ger's paint job. Almost done
