#White without white

Even though the primer is white I'm trying to achieve white without painting White. This is what I have so far. My pallet right now is dark Prussian Blue for the deepest blue shadows. Then snow blue for the cooler Shadows. Pale Gray for the warmer Shadows and pale sand for the warm highlights.

So I'm thinking I probably already overdone some of the highlights and shadows, the skirt is looking more like a blue skirt and the top more like a yellow top.

This is my inspiration image.

So I'm using these colors as my pallete

It might not work in miniature, but I'm guessing it is a matter of proportions or something. Any advice is appreciated.

They read as white to me

I think you are doing a great job so far

Erik Swinson has a nice clip of painting a blue to yellow progression for a white t shiet

ok, things are moving along., although getting a white skirt seems to have failed. It almost works on the blouse, but it seems way too much blue to consider the skirt to be white. OTOH, the blue skirt works pretty well so I'm wondering if I should just roll with it. A happy accident but a failure in technique. I dunno that I have a white enough blue to do the effect I was aiming for. At least not at this point. It was a mistake to use such a strong blue in the shadows maybe.

If I did want to get more of a white effect, could I just go over it with an airbrush maybe with a warm white like Silver white or even a warm grey? (ak3g paints) Would that subdue the too much blue effect? Still a bit of work ahead of me with this mini.
