I’ve had my airbrush for a 2 weeks but I have ran into problems with the paint being spider webbed, I have tried lowering psi, trying different paint consistency’s but I can’t find the problem.

What airbrush, what paint and thinners what mix ratio , what size needle and nozzle, what psi?

Hi, understand how airbrush works, all the variables mentioned above by @copper condor need to be considered, in addition to them it is also necessary to take into account the distance between the airbrush and the surface and also how much paint you release or how much you pull the trigger back.

Spiderwebs can form due to excess paint being released and blown by the airbrush itself due to its proximity to the surface, try pulling the trigger back less to check if this is the case, sometimes the paint can accumulate in the nozzle and when it is expelled as well cause a spiderweb. In addition to the consistency of the paint, dilution, pressure and size of the needle and nozzle, everything changes the equation.

The only way for you to discover which of the factors needs to be adjusted in your specific case is something that you will have to observe and to do this you need practice and not being afraid of making mistakes. I started to have much more pleasure with the airbrush stage after I lost my fear of it! 😅

I run a 25 psi with a master airbrush G233

#

I use a 0.2 needle

Press air and do a continuous back and forth motion of the paint release to always have control of the flow. try to push also the airbrush back further from the mini to avoid when it happens. Test on a cardboard first

#

You can also try 20 and increase to 25 as you manage better the control

Ok! I’ll try that when I’m home!

Rock the paint trigger constantly to always be like stoping the flow and creating flow to have better control. (Air is always going out)

It was a mix of how far back I pulled the lever and also the paint consistency

Good, in the end you learned something from the experience and this is the most important thing! 🎉

Use the rocking motion for better control
