I have been thinking about expanding my paint range and pick up some speed paints, but I don’t know if they’re any good

I don’t have personal experience with them but I have heard Speedpaint 2.0 is better than 1.0.

You can also try Citadel Contrast paints, or some Inks which behave similarly.

Might be worth seeing which ones you prefer - I’m sure they’re all comparable.

I personnally like them. Be sure that you buy the version you like most before spending for a full set: 1.0 will 'reactivate' with water wich may be a pain or a nice feature depending on the painter. 2.0 dries fasters and do not reactivate much. I would recommend buying just a few colors of each brand that you like most (Citadel contrast paints, AP speedpaints, Vallejo express colors etc.) They can be mixed mithout issue.

But Vallejo Express colors are nice too 😉

Army painter ones look nice, should I just go with the most wanted set or the mega set

I would start with only 5-10 colors you like or need for your next project, so in my opinion you've got plenty already with the most wanted. Then if you really like them and want some specific one that are missing, just buy individual bottles

Ok thanks!

When buying individual bottles, make sure they are 2.0 if that's what you want because you can still find some 1.0 in store. (it should be written on the label)
