#regular masking tape for airbrush

No it isn’t great, it tends to have some leakage in my experience as it isn’t as waterproof
If you are dead set on using it then i suggest airbrushing the same layer again to seal it before doing any other work
So for example if you are airbrushing white on a green base coat, tape it, then do the green again to seal, and then the white
Also be warned that regular masking tape might be too sticky, so you risk pulling off paint.
I recommend tamiya tape
How many mm?
Depends on what you are taping! 18mm is a good standard size, smaller for hazard stripes
Definitely too sticky and will lift paint. But you can wear off that stickiness by repeatedly sticking and removing it on something like you hand.
I e done the same but with Matt varnish which may be easier. But longer drying time.
Got some tamiya 18mm coming today
Also a w&n series 7 #2 and brush soap and preserver
You may find silly putty is a good solution for that kind of 3d masking.
I’ll try it out thx!
Or cling film. 🙂
Yah I saw that too
