STANDARD HOUSEKEEPING RULES :

You may prep your mini, this includes, gap fill, assemble, purchase and prime ahead of time. Paint should only be applied during the time-frame of the PAL.

Anyone can join in on the fun. Just share your mini first and paint within the time frame. Request your points in the point request channel by following the pinned post on how to ask for points.

You can't submit the same mini for multiple PALs or other multiple events. And units minis can't be split among the different PALS if they are identical .

Have fun and be nice to each other. Share some wips and some laughs.

The model details are quite ‘rounded’. Even the edges have slight roundness to them. Feels like it’ll be quite finicky to edge highlight crisply. Guess it’s a learning curve vs other type of models

PVC models typically use complex moulding so you'll have mould lines running in a few directions around them. it takes a good look to make sure you catch them all.

to find the mold lines before you paint, brush the whole model with a wire brush

Had a crack of painting most of the highlights on the right/our left leg. I have a feeling if I replicate this on the rest of the mini he’ll be a very loud and proud kinda mech. Bit much, but whatever.

Definitely have a bit more respect for Battletech painters though. It’s way way harder to deal with panel edges than on gw minis. Not even close. fascinating

I did, I also had to rebuild a lot of panel lines that got wrecked. These took ages.

I use a steel bush also on red's recommendation. Then just a hobby knife, my finger nail and a tooth pick. They do get scratched but you can buff it out with your nail and the tooth pick. The brush I use is in this pic #1223639412978487439 message

I didn't really think it would work either but it does. Just scrape the mould lines then a few quick swooshes to take the burrs off and it comes pretty good.
It's from the welding section at burnings. There's a pack with 3 smaller brushes, nylon, steel and brass. The brass is good for pewter minis too.
