Hello, starting off saying that I appreciate the advice that's given whenever I/anyone asks for advice on our mini pieces. That said, I would like some advice/critique for my squig/goblins here. I originally went with a purple look, that eventually transitioned to magenta/pink, but now I'm wondering how much shadow to add and where as I think I've brightened the figure as a whole too much. Thinking of how to up the contrast without making it too jarring.

I think you’re good, it looks great! If you do want to make it darker, glaze a purple color, maybe a little brighter than your basecoat into the recesses

Thank you! I'll have to give the recess shading a try, but I'm wondering what I can do to bring this mini to the "next level". It feels like something is still off. What else can I do to really make it pop? Especially for the goblins, whose robes I don't feel like I have down just yet.

I'll need to take more photos later on the goblins themselves

For help in evaluating them

I think you can bring up the value around the face of the squig. It's tricky to do that without making it look pink. You could try glazing on some white ink, followed by a pyrrol red or orange mixture.

#

Another way to make the face relatively brighter is to make the shadows darker.

I've done something similar to that white ink method to build up a gradient on another gitz model funnily enough. I'll have to give it a try on this one as well! I'll work with this advice for now, and update once we give it a go. Thank you both for the help and advice!

For the record, it looks amazing as is. You are your harshest critic 🙂
