STANDARD HOUSEKEEPING RULES :

You may prep your mini, this includes, gap fill, assemble, purchase and prime ahead of time. Paint should only be applied during the time-frame of the PAL.

Anyone can join in on the fun. Just share your mini first and paint within the time frame. Request your points in the point request channel by following the pinned post on how to ask for points.

You can't submit the same mini for multiple PALs or other multiple events. And units minis can't be split among the different PALS if they are identical .

Have fun and be nice to each other. Share some wips and some laughs.

You can just prime on top of the old paintjob. If the previous painter did not obscure details you won't see much difference.

I started today, to get a feel for the colors, since I need to see how it works on the mini - I will get rid of this kind of yellow, it's too flashy for me and I'm not sold on the red/brown skirt, idk .. I will have to think about it, probably going more into blueish color and keeping the shadows purple

oh and since I put the color on, I now notice the moldlines more 😩

btw how many layers of white do you guys usually need for a good white undercoat?

A bazillion are usually enough. Game changer was getting a titanium white (heavy body) which just covers on a completely different level

I've just went from citadel's white to vallejo, definitely an improvement, but still not the best

also it was my first time using vallejo's white primer which didn't cover really well

I recommend liquitex heavy body titanium white. You can thin it with your normal white, water or white ink and it covers greatly.

Until then make sure to underpaint lighter coats on top of black so it doesn't take ages

I was looking for pro acryl bold titanium white for a while because I've heard it's really good

Titanium white is the pigment you want for coverage maybe pro acryl is good too 🙂

It's the common one used from basically everyone if they say white

Big part of the hobby is to try stuff out. Inks are very fluid you don't thin them usually. Either pure or you use inks to thin other colors for darklining or so
