Flesh Gradient Assistance

Hey all, a bit to used to painting machines, so I was just wondering if someone could tell me the best way to do the fleshy bits on this.

I’m think either airbrush or dry brush building layers, but I’m pretty mediocre and was wondering if anyone had tips or an entirely different method to get it to this look.

I don't think this was airbrushed. And it's a weird lighting scheme. It's giving me contrast paint intermixed with layering and maybe drybrush vibes.
