#stippling to create texture

I’ve seen a few guides on how to stipple, but mainly as a way to help create smooth blends or as reflective surfaces for metals, but rarely about using them to make texture.

I’ve a few cloaks I’d like to make look more woolen and thick, any advice or examples on using stippling in different ways to achieve that goal would be greatly appreciated

Albert Moreto Font does an amazing job of this on his Elven model for Golden Daemon, I’d love to know some more tips as to how

The notes on Planes was immediately super useful!

One thing I’ve noticed with woolen fabrics and cotton is the subtler reflections causing a value grade that’s fairly close together within the texture, but the individual material’s shadows and highlights tend to be much more drastic in turn

Already your vid and Vince’s vid have gotten me here

Thank you so much @kind swift ! Really broke down the process manageably and I can look at this and recognize I probably want softer highlights, these are a bit too intense
