Hi all, just wanted to see if anyone knew the paint brushes that I see in so many pro painter videos like Zumikito Miniatures, Mid Winter Minis and others…they have really strong bristles and are very good with fine detail as-well as base painting.
Sorry I can’t be more specific, I’ve heard Windsor and Newton thrown around a lot but not a concrete answer/link.
Any help would be greatly appreciated:)

Hey pal. This is a hotly debated area among mini painters. Without giving you any opinion, here are a few of the most commonly spoken about brushes;
W&N Series7
Da Vinci series 35
Raphael 8404
Rosemary & Co
It’s quite uncommon for people to speak negative about the two in the middle, so maybe use that as a starting point
Okay great thank you mate:)
Any kolinsky sable brush
Meh, no they aren’t all made equal.
And as Sekasi has learned, it isn't just about the brush brand. Smaller is not better.
Absolutely fucking valid point. Could not see myself go back to the 00 or 000’s ever again
Did you settle on a favorite size yet? I bought a 3 and 4 but haven't used them yet. The 2 worked rather well though.
Da Vinci S35 size 1 is amazing. I have a s7 size 2 which is more or less the same size. Both good.
